This is my new experiment in Cutlet. Try it. My kids love it. So I decided to share this recipe with you.
Ingredients for Channa or Kadala fry————-
Black Chana – 100 gm(soak in water for 8 hrs.)
Big onion – 1 no.(cut into small pieces
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tspn
Red chilly powder – 1 tspn
Coriander powder – 2 tspn
Garam masala(Chicken masala) -11/3 tspn
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tspn
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 tspn
Clean and cook chana in a pressure cooker by adding all the ingredients except garam masala with 11/2 cup water until 4 or 5 whistle may come. Take a pan, heat oil, add the cooked channa. Add garam masala and fry it well. Add salt if needed. Take the small jar of mixie and smash the fried channa for 10 second
Ingredients for making cutlet—-
Powdered oats or cornflex/bread crumbs – 1 cup
Egg – 1 no.
(cornflour – 3 tspn, 1 pinch salt diluted in water can be used in stead of egg).
Oil for frying – 1 cup
Take a pan heat oil. Take small quantity of smashed Channa fry and make it into cutlet shape and dip it in egg or cornflour liquid and then spread the powdered oats or cornflex on the outer of cutlet shaped channa. Repeat the process and keep aside all balls and fry them in the hot oil and serve the children with tomato sauce. They will love it.
